日本、東南アジアの労働者を採用するためインドネシアで介護プログラムを設立予定
2023年9月15日、日本の首都東京の銀座ショッピング街にある主要交差点を渡る高齢女性（左）と高齢男性（中央）。AFP撮影 厚生労働省は、この措置により日本の介護事業者が負担する費用の一部を負担し、インドネシアで介護教育プログラムが設立されると述べたとストレーツ・タイムズ紙が報じた。 特別養護老人ホームを運営する企業や、介護職員を養成する専門学校などに対し、厚労省が旅費を補助する。 来年には日本の人口の約20％が75歳以上となり、2026年までに約25万人、2040年までに約57万人の介護職員が不足する可能性がある。 出入国在留管理庁の統計によると、介護分野で働くため、2023年末までに約2万8400人の外国人が技能ビザで日本に入国した。 ケアワーク財団の調査によると、介護施設の60％が人員不足を報告し、外国人労働者を受け入れているのはわずか10％程度であるとジャパンニュースが報じた。 同省の広報担当者は、施設側が外国人スタッフの雇用拡大を検討することを望んでいると述べた。
