The Hunt for Gollum 2 (2024) begins with an eerie and atmospheric atmosphere of Media Earth, in vuelta en niebla. The trailer begins with the voice of Gandalf (Ian McKellen), taking advantage of a new darkness that stirs in the highest levels of Mordor. “The creation is the most dangerous that any one… hay that I find,” he says sincerely, referring to Gollum, who has been lost since the discoveries of the first film.
The camera cuts down from Aragorn’s (Viggo Mortensen) place, now mayor and most devastated by the battle, assuming the location area of Gollum once more. The trailer shows an epic journey into little-known regions of Media Earth, between Aragorn, accompanied by Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), who sets out to capture the elusive creation before being carried away by its dubious hands. There’s a lot at stake, with rumors of a new amenaza: a dark force seeking to prove Gollum’s knowledge of the One Ring for sinister props. The advance ramps up the tension as we watch Gollum (Andy Serkis) traverse dense forests, his obsession with the Ring more loco than ever. Gollum’s dual personalities, Smeagol and Gollum, are more conflicted in this film, torn between escaping and regressing with their love.
The trailer shows intense scenes of persecution, with Aragorn and his crew traversing dangerous landscapes, from towering mountains to deep depths, relentlessly persecuting creation. The tone changes when the trailer introduces a mysterious new villain: a man from the East, played by Richard Armitage, who seeks Gollum for his own dark agenda. With a climactic battle as Aragorn and his aliases face off against this new enemy, with the future of Tierra Media once again at stake.
