Back to Eight Below (2006) is an adventure film directed by Frank Marshall, inspired by a true story. Set in Antarctica, it follows a captivating story of survival, loyalty, and the bond between humans and animals.
The film centers on a group of eight sled dogs and their human companions. Dr. Jerry Shepard, played by Paul Walker, is a guide at a research station in Antarctica. He and his team of scientists embark on an expedition to retrieve an important discovery from the frozen wilderness. When a severe storm hits, the team is forced to abandon their mission and the sled dogs, used to help transport supplies over the rugged terrain, are left behind.

The film then follows the harrowing and intense struggle for survival of the eight dogs, as they endure the freezing conditions, face hunger, and try to find a way to survive in the desolate environment. Meanwhile, Jerry, haunted by the decision to leave them behind, risks everything to return and save the dogs.
